ever since watching the movie balto as a kid, it's been a dream of mine to see the northern lights. and nicolaus and i heard that there was a chance that we would be able to see the northern lights from utah last weekend! so on friday night, we headed up to payson lakes and found a little camping spot with a perfect view of the northwestern sky. turns out, the northern lights were not visible from utah with the naked eye...but we did see a lot of pretty stars, fall colors, breathed in some fresh, mountain air and heard a whole bunch of elk calls in the night. so that was cool. and i can still live with the hope of a trip to alaska or norway to see the northern lights one day...
