nicolaus and i celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary last week. it seems like just yesterday was our wedding day, but at the same time, it feels like a lifetime ago. it's crazy to think how much has happened/changed in the last 3 years...we've visited 7 states, 6 countries, lived in 3 different apartments, earned 1 bachelor's degree, welcomed 2 new nieces...our hair is a little longer and we're a little older. people have come and gone from our lives. we've gone through some really, really good times and helped each other through some not so good times. we've been stressed and tested and grown and learned and laughed and explored together.

we've been figuring out who we are and who we want to be in our lives and trying to decipher this strange adult world. and i honestly can't think of someone more perfect for me to grow up with and be my partner in crime through it all. i was head-over-heels in love with this boy when i married him, but that hardly compares for how much i care about him now. he has proven to me time and time again how incredible and hilarious and fun and caring of a person he is. and to continue on with the cheeseball theme of this post...neil young put it best with the lyrics from our wedding song, harvest moon:

come a little bit closer
hear what i have to say
just like children sleepin'
we could dream this night away.

but there's a full moon risin'
let's go dancin' in the light
we know where the music's playin'
let's go out and feel the night.

because i'm still in love with you
i want to see you dance again
because i'm still in love with you
on this harvest moon.

when we were strangers
i watched you from afar
when we were lovers
i loved you with all my heart.

but now it's gettin' late
and the moon is climbin' high
i want to celebrate
see it shinin' in your eye.

because i'm still in love with you
i want to see you dance again
because i'm still in love with you
on this harvest moon.
