nick's cousin, peer, got married in california in the beginning of june, so we made a whole trip of it. we started in newbury park and spent a few days with family and friends at the beach and eating a lot of burritos and a lot of donuts. but my highlight of the trip had to be digging a whole in the sand at the beach for my belly, so i could just face-plant for hours, soaking in some sunshine and being able to lay face down! it was dreamy!

then we made a day trip to ojai, which is the cutest little town tucked away in some california hills. we browsed through some beautiful boutiques and bookstores. it felt so detached from any hustle and bustle and kind of like you had transported back pre-digital era. one day i would love to be able to go there on a little spa getaway!

after ojai, we drove down to santa barbara and ate fresh seafood then walked around the pier eating ice cream and spotting seals. then we headed back to newbury park for another night and spent some more quality time with old friends and family.

on sunday morning we headed down to huntington beach for the wedding, and it was so cool to meet more of nick's danish side of the family! or see some of them that we don't get to see very often. and after the wedding, we spent the evening/night/morning with our friends jake and ashley and their cute kids in irvine. even though it was too short, i was so glad we got to see them!

it was another successful california road trip and it's crazy to think that next time we make it back to newbury park will probably be with baby in tow! :)
