we took a bus from dc to new york, because i told nicolaus i'm only going to turn 25 once and i wanted to do it in new york. :) it was a short, incredibly fun and incredibly exhausting way to celebrate my birthday and i loved it. so did nicolaus. which was surprising, because he has never been too keen to visit nyc, but he ended up liking it way more than he ever thought he would. and nielsy had the time of his life. babbling, smiling and waving to so many strangers, getting his diaper changed in a plethora of bizarre places, and getting snuck bites of tasty food. here's what we did:
day 01 // window shopped along 5th avenue, wandered around times square, and ate dinner at a south african restaurant.
day 02 // ate fresh bagels for breakfast, saw the statue of liberty, walked through wallstreet, walked the brooklyn bridge, shopped in soho, ate lunch at joe's pizza, stumbled up upon the world's best record store in grenwich, ate creme brulee doughnuts at dough, wandered through the moma, ate pastrami sandwiches for dinner and cheesecake for dessert, had banana pudding from magnolia's for second dessert, watched the sunset from top of the rock, and ate soft serve cones from an ice cream truck for third dessert.
day 03 // bagels for breakfast, mozied around central park, listened to a street performer sing john lennon songs at strawberry fields, went into diabetic coma/bliss from the cookies at levain's bakery, met up for a baby play date with two of my friends, alex and hayley, who live in new york, ate street hot dogs for lunch, then caught an uber to the airport.
