wednesday night nicolaus and i went out to get chinese food for our last night together for a few days and at the end of the date i got a fortune cookie that said "traveling at this time would be a good investment of your time and money." it couldn't have been more spot on!
my sister's husband is doing his 3 year residency for med school in new mexico so they just bought a house there. a house that had belonged to an old lady who had passed away with only one daughter on the east coast - who couldn't really take a lot of her mother's belongings, so when my sister's family bought the house they also inherited a whole lot of furniture, electronics, decor from the 60's and 70's. we're talking velvet couches, yellow shag carpet, record players and a lot of porcelain cats.
so i road tripped down there over the weekend with my parents (nicolaus unfortunately couldn't get work off) to help my sister and her cute family sort through all their new (old) stuff, have a yard sale, do some remodeling, watch their little girls and get situated. plus i scored in the fact that nicolaus and i got a whole bunch of gems that my sister didn't want or need!
but the best part was definitely snuggling those adorable nieces of mine :)
That so amazing about all your sister's inherited treasures! Your whole family looks lovely :D
