if you've been following along on instagram, you'll know that nicolaus and i spent the last week in california because nicolaus wanted to surf, i wanted to be warm, and we both wanted to visit our friends! we visited his hometown, newbury park, and also spent a day in newport to visit my friend markell and her husband jordy in their new little beach apartment. the trip was so amazing and everything we hoped it would be :)


newbury park is one of my very favorite places and a big reason is how close it is to some of the prettiest beaches! these photos are from our first day there hanging out with jake, ashley and baby johnny - who i have to stop calling baby johnny because he's like a child now, which is insane!! i swear he was just born yesterday. and i'm also boggled at how he manages to just get cuter and cuter.
